Since joining the Civil Service in 2002, Simon has provided policy advice on subjects such as water quality, climate change, waste management, agriculture and environmental protection. In 2014, Simon moved to DECC (now BEIS) where he has worked on a range of issues affecting gas-fired power stations, coal mines and security of electricity supply. He also currently advises BEIS on DSR involvement in the Capacity Market.
